Genji is an offensive hero in the popular game Overwatch. The first time Genji appeared was at BlizzCon 2015. He first lived a luxurious and privileged life as the youngest son of the master of the Shimada ninja clan. After the clan leader’s untimely death, Hanzo, as Genji’s older brother, demanded that he take a more active role in their late father’s empire. This Genji refused to do, leading to tension between the brothers and eventually a violent confrontation. Hanzo initially thought he had killed his brother, but he was saved by Overwatch and the intervention of Dr. Angela Ziegler. As the severely injured Genji wrestled with death, Overwatch offered to restore his body in exchange for his help. This turned him into a cyborg.
